ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಸ್ಥಗಿತಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದ LPG ಮೇಲಿನ ಸಬ್ಸಿಡಿ ಗ್ರಾಹಕರ ಖಾತೆಗೆ ಜಮಾ ಮಾಡುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಶೀಘ್ರದಲ್ಲೇ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಬಹುದು ಎನ್ನುವ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಕೇಳಿ ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ . ಗೃಹೋಪಯೋಗಿ ಗ್ಯಾಸ್ ಸಿಲಿಂಡರ್ ನ ಸಬ್ಸಿಡಿಯನ್ನ , 2020 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊರೋನಾ ಸಾಂಕ್ರಾಮಿಕದ ಮೊದಲ ಅಲೆಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಜೂನ್ ನಿಂದ ಗ್ಯಾಸ್ ಸಿಲಿಂಡರ್ ಗಳ ಮೇಲಿನ ಸಬ್ಸಿಡಿಯನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದೆ. ಜೂನ್ 2020 ರಿಂದ LPG ಸಬ್ಸಿಡಿ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಬ್ಸಿಡಿಯನ್ನು ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಖಾತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ವರ್ಗಾಯಿಸಲಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ, ಉಜ್ವಲ ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿ ಗ್ಯಾಸ್ ಸಿಲಿಂಡರ್ ನೀಡಿದವರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ 200 ರೂ ಸಬ್ಸಿಡಿ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ಅಂಕಿಅಂಶಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, LPG ಸಬ್ಸಿಡಿಯನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು 2021-22 ರಲ್ಲಿ 11,654 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಉಳಿಸಿದೆ ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಜ್ವಲಾ ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿ ಎಲ್.ಪಿ.ಜಿ. ಸಬ್ಸಿಡಿ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಕೇವಲ 242 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಅನುದಾನ ನೀಡಿದೆ.
ದ್ರವೀಕೃತ ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲಿಯಂ ಅನಿಲ ಮೇಲಿನ ಬಜೆಟ್ ಸಬ್ಸಿಡಿಯು 2022 ರ FY ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಮುಗಿದ ನಂತರ, ಈಗ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು FY 2023 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಬಹುದು. ಆದರೆ ಇದು ಈಗಿನ ದರ ಏರಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಷ್ಟ ಸಾಧ್ಯ ಎನ್ನುವ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಕೇಳಿಬರುತ್ತಿವೆ .
