Tumkur: An auto driver attempted to rape a seven-year-old minor girl in the early hours of the morning in Tumkur district. The accused has been identified as Syed (40), a resident of Good Shed Colony, Shantinagar, Tumkur. The incident took place under the Katsandra Police Station of Tumkur. Accused Syed, who is an auto driver by profession, molested a seven-year-old girl who was walking near the bus stand around 1 pm on Thursday.
Later, he took her to a deserted area in his car and tried to rape a minor girl in the car. When the public came to know that Syed had taken the girl, they followed him and caught him red-handed. The girl was rescued and the accused handed over to the police. In this regard, a case has been registered against the accused in the local police station and the investigation is ongoing. The girl was an orphan and was begging at the railway station and bus station of Tumkur.
