Chikmagalur: Former minister, senior political adviser D.B. Chandra Gowda (87) passed away. He passed away at his residence at Daradahalli in Mudigere taluk due to age-related illness. Arrangements have been made for the final darshan at Mudigere Adyanthaya Theater. The last rites will be performed at Poorchandra Estate, Daradahalla.
Chandra Gowda, who served as the Law Minister, was also elected as an MP from the BJP. Chandra Gowda, who was a staunch Congress, joined the BJP in a changed scenario.
He was elected three times as an MLA, three times as an MP, and once as a member of the Rajya Sabha. Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi resigned to give her political rebirth. Chandra Gowda allowed Indira Gandhi to contest by resigning from the Lok Sabha seat.
