The incident took place near Rayapur near Dharwad where the mini lorry driver died while sleeping in the lorry. Rajendra Chojan Kaliyaperuma (41), originally from Tamil Nadu, was the deceased driver. This driver had brought washing machine spare parts from Tamil Nadu to Krishna warehouse in Rayapur.
The driver had a heart attack while sleeping in the lorry at night. Vidyagiri police station visited the spot and sent the body for postmortem. After that, arrangements have been made to send the dead body to Tamil Nadu.
