The Cauvery issue has remained the same for several decades. Shri Nirmalanandanath Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Peetha in Mandya said that drinking water should be given on priority. Speaking to the reporters, he said, “Let any government do the job of safeguarding the interests of the citizens on the issue of ‘Supreme’ order to restore water to Tamil Nadu.” At present, the situation has come to follow the order of the court.
He said that the government should properly convince the Supreme Court about the actual situation. We will also talk to the state and central ministers. Mr. Nirmalanandanath said that the government should take up the Mekedatu project as soon as possible to facilitate the farmers.
