District In-charge Minister HC Mahadevappa said that in view of the drought spread across the state due to lack of rain, it has been decided to celebrate the world famous Mysore Dussehra Mahotsav simply this time.
Sharing information about this on his Twitter account, he said that due to the low rainfall in the state, the farmers are suffering. So this time the government has decided to celebrate Dussehra in a simple and meaningful way. Renowned music director Hamsalekha will inaugurate the Dussehra festival.
In 2021, a simple Dussehra was celebrated due to Covid. Although the Jamboo Savari procession took place, it was confined to the palace premises only. Last year a grand Dussehra celebration was held, but this time due to lack of rain due to widespread drought, the government has decided to celebrate a simple Dussehra.
